Steamdeck or competitor?

So Steam finally messaged me that I should confirm my Steamdeck purchase and I get the feeling that it's been a bit longer than planned. I mainly wanna game on my 4h train trips that occur every few weeks, maybe using ssh every now and then. Is the steamdeck still the best for this or are there better alternatives?

The hardware+software is what makes the steamdeck the best option at the moment. It's just a really well built and designed product

There are no competitors with comparable GPUs either, plus they use Windows which is far less optimal for small devices.

 

The Steam Deck is the closest thing to a console PC hybrid, the software and hardware customised/optimised more like a console, but with the flexibility of running PC games.
