First Time Case Modder

So I'm planning out my first PC Case Mod, and I'm having a helluva time trying to pick a good case to start with.

 

What kind of things do you consider when choosing a case for a project (aside from theme), and what kind of pitfalls should a modder avoid?

I've never really done a lot of case mods, only thing I've ever done was modded an old full tower case to mount a 2nd psu.

 

But, if we knew what kind of mods you were wanting to do it might make it easier for people to give suggestions.

Shoot, I should've remembered that - sorry bout that!

 

I was looking to do some stuff like repainting and external stuff that would have the core chassis as a centerpiece to something a little bigger (basically a motorcycle-ish design for someone I know)

Get a Metal case.

 

Modding takes a lot of time and effort. I usually keep the case around even if it gets retired eventually.

It really depends on the look and mods you're going with. If you're cutting into the case find something without sound deadening or is plastic. Find something older with some decent features so you can replace out parts if need be. For my mods Im using the Thermaltake F31 Suppressor. All my mods are on the inside.
