Nobody can really tell you what switch you will prefere. It's a really subjective thing. What i can recommend is either getting a sample kit or go to a store that lets you try out different keyboards. This will help you get a feel for the different switches.

For a red backlight you can have a look at the Corsair Vengeance series, the Ducky Shine III or the CM Storm keyboards.

Edit: You can also check out this guide. It won't compare to trying out the switches for yourself, but it can give you some more extensive knowledge on the different switch types.

Reds with heavy O rings. Sound wont change much but the impact on typing does decrease a lot. I tried landing pads but prefer a heavy O ring.  I have one keyboard just for typing set up this way and liked it so much for typing that I also use a ten keyless version just for gaming set up the same way.  Reds alone use to hurt my finger joints when typing a lot because I am a heavy typer. If you dont want to mod anything I would say browns will fit the bill nicely. In the end you will like what you like and it may be something not common or very common. Just have to try things out.

I know im about to bust open a can of arguments, but regardless.
I personally own a G19 keyboard, it is perfect for gaming and Typing. Has a very comfortable removable wrist support. and you can change its backlight to any colour of the rainbow you want.
I have not yet tried a MX switch keyboard for gaming, but have tested them in the store, and personally i don't notice the big hype that everyone goes for, to me the G19 is just fine for every thing general use.

cheers
