hi, so recently while playing valorant ive noticed that about every 30 seconds or so my fps drops drastically from around 50 (which isnt that great on its own) down to 10. this makes the game unplayable and lasts for about 15-20 seconds. I checked gpu-z and turns out my gpu clock speed was going down from the usual 1100mhz to 350mhz. im not sure why this is happening but it makes the game unplayable so if anyone knows a solution or a reason for this then let me know. I use a laptop btw.

specs:
i7 3610QM
intel HD 4000 graphics

8gb ddr3 1600mhz ram

Depends on how dusty the environment is, did you use compressed air to clean them?

Other possibility us that the thermal paste for CPU has dried out and needs replacing, guessing it's quite an old laptop.

yeah i used compressed air but are you sure that temperature is the only problem or is there some other problem causing the downclocking too?

Have no idea why the temp was being downplayed. But 92c is obviously far too hot. Your laptops firmware is going to have the limit set far lower than that. This is pretty much an open and shut case of it overheating

ok thanks, im sorry if i did anything dumb i dont really know much about overheating
