So, I have an internet connection of about 100-150Mbps down and 30-35Mbps up (I'm connecte via ethernet to my router), but sometimes I randomly get massive, very short (usually less than a second long) lag spikes, like if I quickly turned off and on the internet in my computer. For some things like browsing the web it's usually a non-issue since as I said the lag spike is very short, but in some online games I get kicked out of matches because of this, or when I'm running a minecraft server for my friends in my computer everyone just gets disconnected. The period between lag spikes is also very random, sometimes I can play for hours without any issues and sometimes I get one every few minutes.

This is such a weird issue, I have no idea what could be the cause. Is it a faulty ethernet cable? Is it a faulty ethernet port on my router/motherboard? Is my router broken? Is some Windows/drivers/random background app nonsense? I haven't experienced the issue in any other device in my home network so far, but as I said before, it's only noticeable in certain scenarios, so I might be happening to all devices without me or my family realizing. I might test some stuff later to see if I can fix it, but since it happens randomly it isn't easy to test, so in the meantime, does anyone have any idea why is this happening?

Does it happen to wifi devices at the same time?  Trying doing constant pings to google.ca or something similar on a wired and wireless device to see if it impacts both.

Since you mention your connections are all dropping\resetting, it sounds like it is more then a lag spike (or pause).  That is a sign that your router is resetting or loosing its NAT table.

My first guess would be to try another router if you can.  It wouldn't hurt to try different network cables if you have some, change the one between the modem and the router as well as the PC to router to see if it helps.
