So I am running windows 11 and for some months now whenever I try to play a game it's all good for a few minutes and then it just freezes.

The rest of the computer works perfectly at that moment, moreover the game just becomes a process that doesn't use any resources and it doesn't close like a normal crash.

This is not a exclusive to a specific game or set of games/ year/ directx and it's not happening with other gpu intensive applications.

I have a gtx 1070 and using at 1080p 60fps.

Did you try all the usual debugging? Reinstall drivers, check cables, clean the dust from the PC?

Also, check Event Viewer for any application or system logs.

What are your temperatures? Overheating could cause a soft crash.

Are you running the game off a HDD or SSD? Providing full system specs could lead to something more meaningful.

Usual debugging done, no change.

Temperatures fine <80 almost always

I have a raid 1 with HDD's and a gen 3 m2 ssd, there is no difference when it comes this problem

full system specs added

Did you have to do any "hacks" to install Win 11? There is a small chance of it being some weird compatibility issue.

Also, you can try using HWiNFO to get a lot of data from all the sensors to see if anything weird happens when the games freeze.

Another thing to try if you have dual channel memory is to try removing one of the sticks and if the issue persists swapping them to see if it will happen to the other one. Might be some weird memory corruption when the RAM is on high utilization.
