Hey 😊

I know these parts are supposedly coming out soon and any information currently circulating is only hypothetical, but I also ask for your opinion here...

Apparently, new zen4 CPUs will now come with iGPUs (AMD called such parts APUs at least until now). However, I also heard these iGPUs will be very rudimentary and thus the chips will rather remain called "CPUs" .

I heard nothing about proper zen4 APUs coming out in the future (close or distant). I mean the kind of chips that would bear the G suffix (ryzen 7700G, for instance). Is there any hints humming around about that? Do you think AMD would drop that segment altogether?

Thanks for your feedback.

Best,

The first Zen 3 CPUs were released in November 2020, the first APUs followed in April 2021, so if the pattern repeats the Zen 4 APUs won't be out until 2023, which might be why you don't hear anything. Right now everyone is waiting for desktop CPUs.

Thank you 🙂

I understand that.

I was just wondering if there were rumors indicating that since the future CPUs would include iGPUs, maybe AMD would stop making APUs. I mean chips with slightly inferior CPU perfs but higher iGPU perfs compared to the CPUs that will be announced shortly...

Thanks
