OK, so this is the GPU.

Have you used DDU?

I would use it to delete the Nvidia driver and then reboot with the GPU plugged into the monitor and see if that works.

If you get to the desktop with the GPU you can reinstall the Nvidia driver.

I'll give that a whirl now

Please help I'm pulling my absolute hair out! so i had a massive failure in the heat completely my fault but alas any excuse for new hardware!!!

So i've got myself;

ASUS ROG MAXIMUS Z690 HERO EVA

32GB corsair ddr5

i512600k

3070

So out with the old all the new goes in, (now i might be about to answer my own question but im hoping to avoid it because of the file systems)

3070 was existing as was my storage and PSU, so i swap out the components and put humpty dumpty back togetther again, and now i have a hella slow boot, and with out disconecting all my usb devices other than my keyboard, and putting my display on to the on board graphics i simply cant sucessfully post. i just get an error code 98. it doesnt matter if i flash my cmos, i honestly cant think of anything other than it being a software issue now? as soon as i disconect all other hardware and use integrated graphics it posts and i can immeditaley switch back to my 3070 and put all my usb devices back on. i'm trying to avoid a fresh install of windows because of the file structures that are in place as i have a few hard drives in it, and its a pig for some of the software i use to put things back on in a date order which is how its all synced.

does anyone have any bright ideas?

Thanks

Mike

Try rebooting with nothing installed but your monitor.

If that doesn't work-

Reseat your GPU.

Booting from a hard drive that was installed in a different system with different hardware can take some time.  Be patient.

I have reseated the GPU and changed its slot it makes no tangible difference as soon as i reboot same scenario

thats great, im guessing it hasnt liked being moved from one MOBO to another with the driver it had. I've removed the drivers and all is gravy now. any savy ideas on how to speed the boot back up? i mean i know its proper first world problems that it takes 10 seconds to boot not 2 but ya know lol

Glad that fixed it.

For booting, I'm not sure if you prefer quick boot or regular in BIOS, but I would check to see if if quick boot is enabled.
