Server Management tool question

Looking for visual Network/Wire Mapping and Management tools/software.

 

I hear SolarWinds works well and or Datadog but are there any free options or alternatives?

I also heard about Lanesweeper, is it a trustworthy program to use?

 

To be clear I do not need an active management system. I just need a snapshot of what everything is and then I can manage it from there myself. From port to IP to VLan to Device. This is the sort of Information I need.

 

I mean, there has to be a better way then unplugging and going around and finding what turned off... right?

The most comprehensive $0 solution I know of for asset tracking and documentation is Snipe-IT.

I don't think it will audit the network for you though, you have to do that manually or with another tool.

I forgot to mention I am looking for a non web based solution. I dont want whatever tool I use to talk with others if possible. But I will look at this as it might help with other projects!

You can rent Snipe-IT cloud hosting, but you don't have to. It happens to be a web application, but there's nothing stopping you from running it on a local server that isn't even connected to the Internet.
