YEAH! Lanpartying is back!

I was thinking to dedicate a thread to this years Assembly Summer happening, as I'm so exciting about digging up my lanparty gear, my "over the table table" (in finnish pöydänpäällispöytä) has been sitting in my garage for too long. Expect some pictures etc., I think I will post some here before and during the event.

Are here any other people, who are attending, or have visited Assembly at some point?

I'll be around Friday after work and Saturday to watch democompos and browse around. But I think I'm bit too old, or rather tired and into work, to participate with a seat.

I have attended 2007-2015 on and off with PC. After that, its been other hobbies and work that have taken time and made effort of going with PC too much. I've been couple of times without place (once in Winters too), either with laptop or with just tablet last time.

And in short for those who don't know, Assembly is among the longest running LAN parties in Europe. Also among the largest even though not close to something like Dreamhack. Its roots are strongly in demoscene, but in better part of new millennia, gaming, esports, content creation and stuff like that have taken bigger parts of the event. So at the moment it really is festival/expo for all things geek.

Nice!

For me the Democompo is the real main event, and has always been (I first attended 1999, and I was first time in the organizer team in 2013, though I did some computer place electricity stuff before that via kind of contractor deal for the winter happenings).

It's a second building day at the moment, and my stuff (computer place electricity) is kind of done, just some SCA and RCD measurements to be done, so I had time to do a quick run with a kickbike to show how the things are looking currently. Here's a video:

(Sorry for shaking video, don't look this from a too big screen to avoid throwing up)

Currently a bit less than 1500 computer places sold, we were wishing that we would be bigger, but yeah, after covid restrictions, many other LANparties here in Finland have been observing less computer sales. I think that happened in the Dreamhack too. Nevertheless, I'm at least expecting a nice lanparty!
