Hey, I was looking for a dac/amp for the dt 990 pro 250 ohm edition and I saw that the Scarlett solo would be fine. But I saw that my microphone has 320 ohms and the dac can do 200.

Is this related or not?
Thank you for you’re time👍

And if you have dac recommendations or something like that please comment it!!

The headphone needs 250 ohm dac/amp to run them with good quality. But my microphone says that it needs 320 ohms. Does that mean that I need a dac/amp that has 320 ohm support or more?

I think you mean that it is non related but just want to be sure 🙂

Your question does not make any sense. You mentioned you're looking for an amplifier and DAC to drive a pair of headphones. When did a microphone come into the picture??? It's a whole different system.

I think you're extremely confused with how some of this stuff works. What microphone do you have?

Ryzen 7 7800x3D -  Asus RTX4090 TUF OC- Asrock X670E Taichi - 32GB DDR5-6000CL30 - SuperFlower 1000W - Fractal Torrent - Assassin IV - 42" LG C2 - Windows 11 Pro

I’m not touching the microphone stuff much you do not need a 250Ω amp to drive those headphones “well”. That’s just the resistance, the dB/mw is in the 90’s so most things will be able to drive them at listenable volumes.

Main thing with higher impedance headphones is that your amplifier needs to be able to drive more voltage (though less current) to get the same power out. You may run into some problems with lower-cost outputs, as they may be running lower voltage rails (+/- 5 V, or worse yet splitting a single 5 V rail and then getting, effectively, a +/- 2.5 V rail). For what is a relatively insensitive headphone (when compared to most other headphones on the market).

The headphone output on the Scarlett interfaces is usable if rather anemic. Don't expect to have a lot of dynamic headroom if you're driving the DT990s from it, but it may still be sufficient. It's something like 6 mW into a 300 Ω load.

95% of the time, unless you're an engineer tasked with designing a microphone preamplifier, you don't need to worry about the source impedance of a microphone.

Thank you this is what I needed! And I know that the Scarlett solo is lower independence but I will use it for gaming.  I can’t find a dac/amp with mic input that has higher independence  for lower than €150. I read online that it will be fine to so now worry’s👍

Get a Presonus Studio 24c, it's much better than the Scarlett in software & better op-amps. If you want to take it further, there's the Motu M2 with the wonderful ESS Sabre 32 DAC found in way more expensive grands worth gear, but the software side of the things aren't as good as on Presonus, just IMO.

sorry for the very late reply....

I will only use the audio interface for driving my 250 ohm headphones and a mic (for discord and games). I have no instruments in the house and have no plan on buying them, is the software and extra ports necessary then? (the op amp is not really a problem for me because on front panel audio the dt 990s already sound ok)

and if i dont like a audio interface i can always send it back for "free"
