Your motherboard may not have the needed LAN drivers.

Google your mobo and find the lan drivers. Install them using a USB.

Hi so as the title suggests I'm having trouble connecting to the ethernet. This is my first PC build so I'm not sure what I am doing. The lights on the PC side have a solid green and solid orange, the wire works I've tested it with my laptop.

I have:

Ryzen 5600x

ASUS ROG STRIX B550-F Wifi 2

Bios: 0305 x64

PSU: EVGA 850W Gold

does your internet require you to login an manually input your mac address for the device? Also does your computer show an ethernet connection symbol or does it have a globe with a cancel sign in front of it?
