Look at their website now and then? It also often gets reposted on some news sites. Unless you need to be on the cutting edge driver all the time it doesn't matter if you're a bit late. Once a month is plenty. Maybe sync it to Windows Update day (2nd Tuesday of each month).

not a bad idea, except for the fact you have to fill out a form on their website every time. and there's no way to remember your settings

okay nvm it does actually remember your settings. you just have to submit the form every time. not too bad

I swear that Nvidia used to auto detect your GPU through the browser, the form was only a backup for when it failed. Now it seems to push their Geforce Experience, they have disabled it. https://www.nvidia.com/Download/ScannForce.aspx?lang=en-us

When the driver page loads, you can even briefly see the auto scan option, before it disappears:

I only see your reply if you @ me.

Ah, I guess I didn't really consider that a "form" per say, it takes about 3 seconds and you'd downloading the driver.

Regardless, half the time I find about a new driver from twitter/reddit/discord or this forum before GFE notifies me, depending on what circles you're in/follow it shouldn't be that difficult but other just check periodically.

Don't update drivers every single time. I do use GeForce experience myself and the best approach is to ignore any drivers that don't specifically mention an optimization for a new game you're playing.

Unlike AMD drivers, Nvidia drivers don't tend to increase performance with new releases. And if it ain't broke, don't fix it

I WILL find your ITX build thread, and I WILL recommend the SIlverstone Sugo SG13B

i7 8086k - EVGA Z370 Classified K - G.Skill Trident Z RGB - WD SN750 - Jedi Order Titan Xp - Hyper 212 Black (with RGB Riing flair) - EVGA G3 650W - dual booting Windows 11 and Fedora Linux - Black and green theme, Razer brainwashed me.

Draws 400 watts under max load, for reference.

How many watts do I need?

yes all these companies try to push the software first, the tools after.

Which really sucks, geforce sucks in a lot of ways and a part of me hate nvidia for all these reasons and their other paths against consumers and gamers alike.

But geforce does make some things easier, else you have to go to their website like above and many of these companies hide the drivers and links for downloads or refuse to have it up on their site... which is getting more common and more privacy to third party deals you have to do before getting the needed software.

some updating is good, but I mostly would wait 1-2 update cycles before updating (like maybe 2-3 months). Also to prevent some issues by the released driver or something to fall back on if the new driver is removing some features or other things.
