Is Zigbee chatty?

So I never realised that Zigbee changed from 900mhz to using 2.4ghz 🤦‍♂️

I just bought a bunch of Ikea Tradfri to start playing with Zigbee, and while buying the Sonoff USB to integrate it all: I noticed it only has the 2.4ghz antenna. That's when I realised my BLUNDER haha!

Why do so many people recommend yet-another 2.4ghz consumer product?!?

Maybe Zigbee creates effective zero interference, as it only sends for that microsecond that a command is sent...

Does anyone know if Zigbee is "Chatty"? ie sending "discovery" probes, or perhaps a regular "Battery/Button status".

Now I wonder if this is why our chromecast remote has all-but stopped working the same weekend 😉

Because it works, so it doesn't matter...

And not it's not very chatty given it's meant to have battery-powered sensors that last years on a battery.
