Audio issue

 im having an issue with my sound so when i play a game with noone i can hear fine but when i join someone or they join me my audio sounds like shit and its muffled im bought to refund my pc and just go back to my xbox

Could be an issue with drivers for your headset or something else conflicting. Are they up to date?

Somebody help me fill in the blanks here, but isn't there a profile in windows that will have your output device "listening" to your playback device?  That is basically like holding a telephone receiver up against a speaker?  I wish I could remember better, but it's a theory of what is going on.  The thing I am hinting at is that your profile is changing when you go into a chat situation...  maybe it's wrong, but it's at least worth looking into.
