Appallingly bad stuttering during Disney Plus playback

I'm having an issue with the Disney Plus app on my Samsung Galaxy S6 Lite tablet. Playback starts fine, but over time, both the audio and video start stuttering more and more. By about 2 minutes in, it's so bad that it feels like it's essentially running at a very jerky half speed, which obviously makes it impossible to watch properly.

This occurs just as badly with both streamed and downloaded content and regardless of whether there is a WiFi connection, but I did try downgrading the video quality in the settings in case it was that, but to no avail.

Other video apps such as YouTube work fine - this issue is specific to Disney Plus.

Anyone else experiencing this and any ideas on how to solve it?

Thanks for reading all this by the way!

By the way, my desktop is a docked laptop. Get over it, No seriously, I have an exterrnal monitor, keyboard, mouse, headset, ethernet and cooling fans all connected. Using it feels no different to a desktop, it works for several hours if the power goes out, and disconnecting just a few cables gives me something I can take on the go. There's enough power for all games I play and it even copes with basic (and some not-so-basic) video editing. Give it a go - you might just love it.
