confused

i have a ROG B450-F Gaming motherboard, an a Ryzen 2700x, an 32gbs of G.Skill TridentZ RGB 3600mhz ram, an i looked up the specs for the motherboard, an it says i can run the ram at 3600mhz, but every time i try changing it to just 3200mhz, it fails to boot properly. is there anyway to get it to work with 3600mhz? or even 3200mhz? cause rn, i have it 2866mhz, an its fine, but it could be better.

do i have to upgrade, or buy different ram?

Are you using DOCP in the motherboard BIOS to set RAM speed?

The 2700x itself may not like anything faster than 2866MHz.  It's not only the motherboard that limits RAM speeds unfortunately.

You're running into the limits of the Zen+ memory controller and the memory topology of that motherboard, neither of which is particularly good at all with memory.

You might be able to get it better by increasing the SOC voltage (overvolting the memory controller), but that might not get you too far and you might just be stuck at 2866MHz.

i am, but i had to manually  put it to 2866mhz, it sometimes crashes still too. should i just build a new setup?

i've had it at 3000mhz, an it was running pretty good, an then it started crashing, so i lowered it more,
