Does HDD speed matter?

Go to solution Solved by nsyedhasan,

thanks.

i can only install like 3-4 games on my SSD before it gets too full. so i guess in the future i would install some games on the other drives as well. should i install the games on the WD Green or the Seagate Barracuda? (or does it even matter)

I would install in the Barracuda because it a faster drive than the Green.

well, let me rephrase;

Does HDD speed matter when you have a ssd as your OS Drive, and the HDD as your Storage drive?

recently i bought a 4tb WD Caviar Green HDD (WD40EZRX) after i ran out of room on my seagate barracuda 2tb drive.

on paper it would seem like the seagate drive is supposed to be faster, but does it really matter in real world usage?

(I use a Samsung 840 Pro 256gb ssd btw)

thanks for the help guys, i appreciate it.

It would matter if you care about how long it takes to load things like games or the OS. Since you already have an SSD It won't matter unless you are storing games on it.

Would you do me a favour and change your profile pic/gif? Please it's disturbing.

I believe it's fine, specially for media storage (music, movies, pictures) and games. Won't affect overall performance either if you're using an ssd for the OS.
