Hi all,

I bought a Thinkpad E590 (Type 20 NB) in 2019, and I'm thinking about upgrading the RAM. The main reason is that it struggles when I have to open multiple programs or if I try to open a virtual machine (I'm trying to learn Linux).

Currently, I have 8 GB of RAM (one stick). The Thinkpad has two slots, so I am planning to add another 8 GB stick. I am worried about timing compatibility. Here is all the info I know:

- Specs (attached): 32GB max / 2400MHz DDR4, dual-channel capable, two DDR4 SO-DIMM sockets (* Installed memory is actually 2666MHz but run at 2400MHz due to Intel limitation)

- Memory already in the slot: M471A1K43DB1-CTD

Current settings according to HWiNFO64:

The RAM I'm planning to buy is this one:

https://www.memoryexpress.com/Products/MX77061

It is advertised as 18-18-18-43 (2666 MHz), will it adapt to the slower timing of the installed memory? I saw a video on LTT where they mixed and matched a bunch of memories and it seemed to work, but they used desktops and I don't know if it applies here. Also, the memory seems to be timed at 1200 MHz (according to the 17-17-17-39), should I try to up that to 1333.3 MHz?

I am open to other RAM suggestions!
