I've heard about different couch streaming solutions over the years and I'm curious what works well these days.

I just want to stream games from my PC to my TV on another floor of the home.

  • Streaming games from all game stores would be ideal (not just steam)
  • Bonus points if I can access the PC for other things - but not really necessary
  • Bonus points if I can remote in from anywhere - but not really necessary

These are the methods I have found doing a quick search

  • Moonlight on Rasberry Pi
  • Parsec on Rasberry Pi  something (parsec is apparently no longer supported on rpi)
  • Gamestream on Nvidea Shield

I'm not afraid of building devices or doing the setup if something doesn't work out of the box... but I'm hoping for a sleek solution. I would love to be able to just grab my wireless keyboard and my 8bitdo controller and play on my TV without too much fuss. It feels inefficient to build a robust extra system if I can easily stream my current system somehow.

I'd love to know what you all recommend / are using! Tell me how you like it. Thanks!
