Just finished a new build, because my gpu just came in. Pc has been working for several days using intigrated graphics. But as soon as I powered it down and installed the gpu now all I get is the led on the io heatsink is slowly pulsing a red light. The fans won't spin the other lights won't come on. Just updated bios, running windows 11 pro.

I've now taken the gpu back out and it still won't work.

You may need to disable the iGPU in BIOS. They will conflict if it is still enabled. Riser cable could also be faulty. Can you mount it directly in the slot temporarily to check this?

I completely removed the gpu and it still doesn't power on. I can try installing the gpu in its normal alignment if that might make a difference.

You may need to disable the iGPU in BIOS, that might be the whole problem. Didn't catch the iGPU the first time I read it.

When you say io heatsink, what specifically are you referring to?

Nevermind, I see now. 😏

Is your video cable plugged into the GPU or the motherboard? You might try unplugging the machine for a bit, removing the riser cable, plug the video cable into the motherboard's video out. If you can get into BIOS that way, disable the iGPU in BIOS settings. The 3080 should automatically disable iGPU anyway, but that will likely fix this. Only trouble is, if your 3080 is DOA, you might have a problem here.
