I was wondering about the feasibility of creating a bitcoin miner solely for rendering. Below is the parts list I made. I really just wanna know if this is even possible and will it generate a large performance increase in GPU based rendering engines by utilizing more graphics cards. I have no idea if there is a falloff in performance the more cards I add, if the board itself won't be able to handle the task I'm asking it to do, and if this is even a viable way to speed up my workflow.

 

Motherboard with CPU (C200) $170 x1

Even a simple rtx card would obliterate this rig.

 

That and the psu you chose is SUCH a hazard don't do it.

 

I mean it's possible but this thing is gonna be AWFUL for your task. You still need cpu power and this thing has like none. You still need ram to cache it all and 16gb isn't a lot.

 

But in reality all you'd need is a capable card that can do things well in real time (rtx has a big advantage here) and a normal computer that can feed the gpu.

 

Adding more cards isn't gonna do anything unreal engine hasn't been optimized for multiple cards in many years.

 

I would just make a normal gaming computer here with a rtx 3060 in it. This computer is gonna be dogshit at your task.
