I have a HP OMEN with 8 GB ram in single channel 

it has i5 10th gen and 1650

will upgrading it to 2X8 GB give performance improvements or CPU or GPU will be the bottleneck

Yes, single channel nukes cpu performance and you will see a noticable increase in fps (or atleast 0.1 + 1% lows), linus made a vid on rams recently and it does show single channel being a terrible ram config

Yeah I saw that , but those improvements were on high end CPU and GPU , and i just wanted to make sure if it'll mirror in my laptop with avg specs

I think i remember running single 2gb stick on my e8400 and cb is only somewhere in between 1/2 and 2/3 the performance vs dual channel

Watch some Dawid does Tech Stuff videos. He does some tests with single vs dual channel often in lower spec machines. In some games it makes a huuuuge difference, in others, not so much. But overall you should have dual channel RAM in 2022 and it's definitely worth the money.
