I'm currently in the process of putting together a new PC and I seem to be have some issues finding memory that'll work good with my setup... I haven't built in a PC to this scale in quiet a few years and ill be honest, I've become sorta out of touch to the PC community for a long time.

I've got a Ryzen 7 5800x with a Asus ROG Strix x570-E. Every set of memory I find that's in stock and in my price range isn't on Asus's QVL list for supported memory. The last PC I built I didn't pay attention to this (I didn't know any better at the time) and I could never get my Corsair Vengeance set to run at the correct speed using XMP. I don't really trust myself or know anything about manually overclocking memory and would rather just turn on XMP and have it work.

What are the chances I can just get a set that isn't on the QVL list and it will still work at the correct speed? I'm looking at 32Gb Corsair Vengeance RGB Pro 3200MHz C16 (CMW32GX4M2C3200C16). Any input on what memory I should use is welcome too. I have no idea what's good and want isn't anymore...

Thanks

Ryzen and Corsair vengeance memory do not get along, would recommend something from crucial or g.skill

There was one set from G.Skill (F4-3600C17Q-32GTZR) that was on the QVL list I was about to buy, then went to order it on amazon and it said it wouldn't be shipped till mid-july... This market is crazy right now. It was a little pricy too. Every other set I can find is $400+ and that's a little out of the budget. I'm already $2000+ deep into this project lol

QVL is not as crucial as it used to be, but it's a helpful guide. The 64gb 4x16 kit is also available at $225 if you gotta have 64gb. 32gb will do you fine for most tasks.

I think I found a set that'll work for me. F4-3200C16Q-32GTZR, G.Skill TridentZ RGB 4x8Gb 3200Mhz CL16.

In terms for performance, would a 3200Mhz CL16 module run about the same as a 3600Mhz CL18 module?
