Hi, I have an old LCD which has being put away for quite some time, until I started to turn it on not long ago. The screen was completed discolored (sorry I don't have picture for that). I then disassemble it and try so repair it, but it turned out the damage is from the LCD layer itself. I don't think there is anything much I can do to fix it. I only wish to know what really happened and try to prevent it in future. I have attached a photo where the LCD has being removed and bright light being shined from behind.20220526_214217.thumb.jpg.2fdb46d5e20d231210be1ae291398048.jpg

Hard to say exactly what caused it. Since it was stored away, probably something heave rested on it?

In any case, reparing a destroyed monitor panel isn't worth it. The cost alone is probably more than a new comparable monitor. And then you still have to invest the time to repair it, if you're even capable of doing that.

If someone did not use reason to reach their conclusion in the first place, you cannot use reason to convince them otherwise.
