Y split cable from CPU fan header

Elajitz

Hey

i just got my Noctuna NF-F12 Fans 120mm 12v

that i will use in Push pull config.on my CPU with a Hyper EVO 212 Evo Radiator.

Atm i running the Pull Fan on the CPU_fan header_OPT

and i saw there was a Y-split cable whit the fans,

Is it safe to put that split on CPU_FAN_HEADER

to maintain the same speed on both of the fans?

the mobos fan header is supporting 12v so 2 fans whit a Y-split will it double the voltage and burn the Header ?

thx

Posted a img from my Manual for my motherboard ASUS-X99A

unless your other fan is some 2A delta blowiematron, it's just fine to use the splitter. that said, on most motherboards with a cpu_opt header it basicly already is an on-board splitter.

Yes, you can use a Y-splitter on that header. Most fan headers are rated for at least 1A, some more.

NF-F12 is very power efficient.

Okay Nice 😄 do you think there will be a noticeable temp difference running a Y-split instead of have the fans connected to CPU_fan_OPT And CPU_fan_Header

There is no difference. In most cases the CPU_OPT header is just slaved to the CPU_FAN header anyway, it really won't matter.

The only difference is you will see RPM for both fans. 🙂

(With splitter you will only see for one but if the fans are the same then....)

Okay! then i just go whit the setup i have right now!

i did notice 1 + - 2c temp difference when i changed the Push fan connector from CPU_Header_OPT to CPU_Header

i just connect the Y.splitter!, so when i control the speed for the CPU both fans will show up as one vice versa?
