Used French prices for convenience

Budget (including currency): 3000-4000$

Country: France and USA

Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: VMs and GPU intensive games

Hello everyone,
I have been saving up for a gaming-oriented PC for 2 years now and would love to build it myself since I was told it would be cheaper and sounds like a pretty cool project. I tried using websites to pick parts but I don't really know what is really important or not so that is why I am here.

1.       Budget & Location

An ideal price for me would be 3000$ though if you feel that some components will ad a significant change that it is worth the extra money it is perfectly fine, my hard budget limit is 4000$. I live in Europe (France) though I am visiting California for 2 months so any of those locations are convenient for me. ($ and/or €).

2.       Aim

This computer will be used for my studies which will require VMs though the performance I need is mostly for gaming. I am making this “investment” hoping it will last me at least 5 years and I love playing graphicly intensive titles such as Cyberpunk 2077.

3.       Monitors

As of now my main focus would be pure performance so only one 2k display maybe 27” high refresh rate but I do plan to buy a second one in the future.

4.       Peripherals

To be honest I don’t know much about peripherals but as of right now I have a keyboard, headset, mouse and mousepad which is all I need to be honest. My keyboard and mouse are really cheap so if you manage to fit a decent keyboard/mouse in there it would be nice but again, not a priority.

5.       Why am I upgrading?

I currently do not own a desktop and I will soon need one for my studies.

6.       Extras

I am not one for esthetics, I prefer performance. so, any case is fine with me, I do not care much for brands or RGB (though they are a nice touch). And I am one of those people that doesn’t care how much noise their machine makes so if the heat sink has a jet engine strapped to it, it’s fine with me...

please include at least a decent speed drive with 1TB of storage.

I will try to answer any question about the project as soon as possible.

Big thanks to everyone for paying attention and giving your time to help me.

I would recommend a beast air cpu cooler, and 2 case fans for the front of the case (mount them as intake). You can move the pre-installed case fan from the front, to the top of the case (mount it as exhaust). I would also recommend a much better psu. This psu will allow for more overclocking, if wanted or needed, as well as offer better support for future upgrades. I added a monitor recommendation as well. I couldn't tell if you were saying you already had one, or wanted one included in the list or not.
