Pulled off a 1996 compaq laptop, can it be used? Her is conector:

As a display for  your desktop? I highly doubt it.

 

Is it just me or does it like kind of like IDE?

I would say it probably cant be done very easily if at all.

Well,,, it could probably be used by a 1996 Compaq laptop.... 

 

 

In all seriousness though, if you're talking about buying an adapter and using it with a modern PC, you're probably SOL.. I've never seen nor heard of any laptop screen to desktop video cable adapters, so unless you yourself know how to build one, you won't really be able to do anything with it..

 

Anyway, why would you want to? Modern displays with absolutely no bells or whistles aren't that expensive (and will probably offer a much higher res than that), so you're probably just better off buying a new monitor altogether..
