My fav.

For me it has to be Spotify. It's a music subscription service. For a monthly fee you get access to a seriously vast collection of music.

https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.spotify.mobile.android.ui&hl=en

Free apps

IMDb is also nice if you're into movies

https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.imdb.mobile&feature=search_result#?t=W251bGwsMSwxLDEsImNvbS5pbWRiLm1vYmlsZSJd

I also don't know if Chrome is preinstalled these days

https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.android.chrome&feature=search_result#?t=W251bGwsMSwxLDEsImNvbS5hbmRyb2lkLmNocm9tZSJd

Dropbox is great for the same reasons Dropbox on the computer is great

https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.dropbox.android&feature=search_result#?t=W251bGwsMSwxLDEsImNvbS5kcm9wYm94LmFuZHJvaWQiXQ..

Paid apps

Swiftkey, a very good aftermarket keyboard, multiple language support, predictive texting, learns how you type, has swype-style typing+++

https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.touchtype.swiftkey&feature=search_result#?t=W251bGwsMSwxLDEsImNvbS50b3VjaHR5cGUuc3dpZnRrZXkiXQ..

Tasker, lets you automate your phone, for instance turning on WiFi when your phone sees the cell tower near your home to save battery when out and about, turn off auto sync while your WiFi is off to save your data plan

https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=net.dinglisch.android.taskerm&feature=search_result#?t=W251bGwsMSwxLDEsIm5ldC5kaW5nbGlzY2guYW5kcm9pZC50YXNrZXJtIl0.

PS: If you're logged in to your google account in, you can remote install the apps from your computer ;)

Chrome because its the best browser imo. Supports pushing websites from your computer to your phone which is pretty nice :)

For games, I would get Hill Climb Racing and Real Racing 3.

Google is releasing Google Play Music All Access which is supposed to be their take on Spotify, which I'm interested in. For some reason it says Spotify is incompatible with my Nexus 4?

Google is asking $9.99/month or $7.99 if you sign up early. How much is Spotify?

Also, how much data does something like Spotify take up? I don't exactly have very much data

If you like watching movies on your phone:

IMDB + thepiratebaybrowser + aDownloader + MXplayer

iGag is a 9gag app

Flipboard is the absolute best for news imo.

I'm probably forgetting some other cool apps :)

Cooler Master 690 II Advanced - I5 2500K @ 4.5Ghz - Geil Enhance Plus 1750Mhz 8Gb - ASUS ENGTX 570 DCUII - MSI Z68aGD65 - Scythe Mugen 2 Rev. B - Samsung 830 128gb and Crucial m4 128gb - much other stuff not worth mentioning

A lot, usually. You can try the Digitally Imported or SKY.FM app, which are free (there are paid premium versions, too) and display the amount of data they received:

 https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.audioaddict.sky&feature=more_from_developer

I just tried it myself and it seemed to vary between 5KB and close to 10KB per second on the lowest settings.

You will at the very least need a good 3G connection and I personally wouldn't want to pay for a subscription as long as my plan didn't include at least 5GB/month. Mine includes 200MB only, which is barely enough to check email and use tapatalk as well as the BBC News app for a bit.

I don't really play many games for gameplay anymore honestly. I play most games just for the graphics.

I think its about 9.99$, but I'm not sure as I don't live in a $-country :P

The amount of data is dependent of how you use the service. What I do is that I have a couple of massive play lists that i keep synced, and what happens then is that my phone syncs those playlists over wifi whenever it can, thus using nothing of my data plan unless i absolutely have to listen to a new track while out and about. You can decide what quality music should be streamed to your device under different circumstances, like best quality over wifi and worst over cellular...

Interesting. I just liked the idea of "streaming" the music to my phone instead of having an actual library on my phone taking up storage space on my Nexus 4 with only 16GB and sadly no SD ):

Currently have just 3GB of free space remaining, and 8GB worth of music. I want to add so much more music though, but I am refraining myself from doing so because of this issue.

With only 100mb, I don't have much data to spare. Oh well, thanks anyway for the responses

Ones that I personally need and have include:

Twitter

BBC News

A few game apps like LOL  BUILDER

IMDB Movie App

And a few more but the one that I probably couldn't live with out is MyBoy which is a GBA emulator.

Is this the real life? Or is this just fantasy?

Not sure if anyone's put it down already but i LOVE "Screen Filter". It allows you to dim your screen below your device's "minimum level" on the slidebar. Great for using in darker areas like in bed or something while saving batteries and without burning your eyes.

PSA though: don't dim it to less than 15%....On my S2, I couldn't find anything and had to reset the phone.. :P

Poweramp is the app that I use the most, it's the best audio player out there IMO.
That said Tasker and Plexpass are super applications!
