MSI Bios update compatibility

Hi,
MSI has just released the bios updates for ryzen 5000 on x370. I currently run a 1700 and would like to upgrade to something like a 5800x in the near future. I am wondering, if I can upgrade the bios on the old chip and drop the new one in later. On the MSI site, there is nothing said about removing support for any CPU, but the SMU checker files put out different things for the different bios versions. Does anyone know, if my 1700 is still supported on the newer version?
