Computer part selector help

Pokey

Budget (including currency): Less than $3000 --- USD

Country: United States

Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: DCS, Star Citizen, other GPU extensive games and minecraft.

Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc):

I'm thinking of buying an RTX 3080 ti, however, I'm not sure if an i9 is worth it, instead I am thinking of buying i7 12th gen, and DDr4 32-64gb ram, I'm trying to make this computer upgradeable and useable for atleast 5 years+ being top of the line for at least couple years, being able to handle gaming like butter.

In the future, you could upgrade to a 13th gen i9 if you need the extra brunt.

Tbh id go this way, but going intel 12gen with DDR5 might be better future-proof option due to AM4 soon to become AM5 for new generation chips.

Also you have 2 TB ssd and 4TB HDD

I didn't know if you were trying to include everything, but I put in everything. If you already have a solid monitor, whether it's 1080p or 1440p, then that's cool too. I went with a high refresh rate 1080p monitor over a 1440p one, because you can get way more FPS and longer lasting performance with a 1080p monitor. A lot of people don't even play in 2k or 4k, and they just use those for benchmarks.
