Is it doing what you need it to do? If yes, then don't listen to random discord user #4206. It's a fine enough CPU that as long as you aren't trying to run a 3080 it should be great. It doesn't make sense to buy anymore, pricing new and used is just kinda stupid for it at the moment, but that doesn't mean it's a bad CPU, it's a fairly respectable lower end chip.

If it's not doing what you need it to do, how is it not doing what you need it to do? Odds are in order to get an upgrade that's worth buying you are gonna have to buy a new motherboard.

And is your gaming performance to your liking? I'm guessing that unless you play a lot of Civ or other super CPU heavy games, it likely is. Even playing those, it's still probably good enough.

I don't know what this discord person is talking about, a 10400 is more than fine for gaming. No, it's not the outright fastest but it was very good value for gaming back in 2020, and even now is just fine. Unless YOU'RE unhappy with the performance, there is no reason to upgrade, and given that it's paired with a 3060, I doubt the CPU is the limiting factor anyway.
