Wear Levelling Count?

DxRalph

Hi all,

I have recently checked my SSD health and have gotten this:

What exactly does this mean? Thanks in advance!

That drive had a three year limited warranty or 70TBW. You've surpassed 100TBW. I'd say you might want to think about phasing that drive out.

That value is indicative of the cycle life. I'm not sure if it is an average or peak, but if you convert the raw hex to decimal it's over 900. Going the other way, take the warranty rated life and divide by capacity, you get an implied 280 drive writes. Maybe wear levelling isn't so great on that drive? Still, there isn't really any going back at this point. The drive may be reaching the end of its endurance. Be especially cautious if you see other error values start going up. A pre-emptive replacement might not be a bad idea.

If it is supported, try Samsung Magician software and see what it says about the SSD.

Thanks for the help guys.

Samsung magician says the health of the drive is good. However this does worry me.

I very rarely get moments where my system completely slows down for a few seconds and my headset microphone cuts out. Could this have anything to do with the SSD?
