Music player problems

Go to solution Solved by HeroRareheart,

Late update, it was just screwed up. There was no easy solution so I just gave up and returned to Windows 11.

I'm struggling HARD with getting a music player to do what I want in Ubuntu. I did a minimal install and I'm dual booting with Windows 11, I have my windows file partition mounted and symlinks so my important folders are shared, such as downloads, but no mater how hard I tried I couldn't set up a symlink for my music folder. My music folder is stored on my NAS in an SMB share which I have connected to. I eventually just gave up and figured I'll just deal with it, after all getting to the folder on the share isn't hard. I don't like the rythembox GUI so I went to the snap store and got the gnome music player which looks great but just, sucks. I couldn't point it to my music folder on my share and internet searches told me I had to add the desired folder as a search location in the settings to get the music player to see it but that didn't work. On top of that it sees all the random sound files stored in my documents folder by games as music and cluttered up the library with 300 stupid 2 second long sound files. I also tried the deepin-music snap but that one just freezes after opening and I have to force quit it. After a while I decided to suck it up and use rythembox but after installing it I also can't get it to see any of the music on my share after pointing it to the folder and it has the same issue of picking up random little audio files. I did remove the documents and downloads folder from my search locations in my settings but that hasn't stopped these programs from searching those folders anyway. Worst of all I can't remove the gnome music snap or deepin-music snap via the snap store or by doing 'sudo snap remove [snap here]' in my terminal. I would like to know how to remove the apps that aren't working and how to get rythembox to see the music folder on my NAS. It works fine on the other 2 PC's in my house running Ubuntu so I'm unsure if I've forgotten what to do or if it's a bug with 22.04.
