OneNote themes are inverted

I prefer light theme on OneNote because its what the pages are designed for so its easier to read, but in OneNote, all the pages have the content in the opposite theme to the rest of the page. in the top photo the content is normal (light mode) and the app theme is dark mode, and when i change the mode to light mode, the content goes dark.

 

Does anyone know why this is happening? I've searched google and couldn't find any mentions of this happening and I've restarted my computer etc.
