for the external harddrive I don't know what their Read/Write speeds are so I was thinking of getting the kingston one because it has Read: 225MB/s, Write: 135MB/s and I can carry it everywhere but the bad thing is its just 64gb.

If you were me Which one would you get while having speed/portability/price per gb in mind.

I'm liking the thumb drive, but then you're paying a lot for speed and portability. Unless I'm installing a OS on the device, I can't see the need for more than 64GB on a portable device. But I'm also pretty certain that the drives will be a lot more durable than the thumb drive.

Depending on the technologies on your MoBo, an USB3 drive could pretty much reach the maximum performance of the internal drives, which could mean you could reach close to the maximum write speeds of the thumb drive using the drives. But then again, I might have misunderstood.
