just a question,if you're going ROG Maxmuis why not go with ROG graphics card? and isn't ROG's Formaula board is meant to be used with custom water cooling with it's VRM waterblock?

the site that I'm buying everything off don't have any ROG cards in stock unfortunately. and I kinda like the way this MSI card looks. yeah I know I could buy it from another site but tbh I kinda just like buying everything from the one place. and the board does not have to be water cooled for it to work, its only if your doing a custom loop.

well do they have Z690 Maxmius Hero? going that would perform the same and probably save a bit of money
also just keep in mind this way the RGB on graphics card won't sync with rest of the system

DDR5 is a waste of money

Else youy could just use 2x Samsungs 970 Evo Plus, there's not much point to the 980

100% meme tier hardware, aka 100% useless hardware since you can get the same performance and aesthetics for much less

ddr5 is garbage rn, even decent ballistix oced to 4600-5000 cl18 will completely annihilate any garbage early ddr5 so just go for aformentioned ballistix (look at buildzoid ballistix oc vids for oc help) and get a ddr4 board, board wise just get an aero g since that seems to be the most i/o dense ddr4 z690 board (2x usbc + 1 header w 6x usb 3 ports and 2 usb 2 ports)

12900k is also a meme, 12700k will deliver the same performance since gaming uses p cores and not e cores, though there may be some situations where the extra e cores come in handy but for all i know thats just for productivity stuff

Aio is horrendously overpriced and a meme again, liquid freezer 360 will completely annihilate it so get that instead, and for displays just get a cheap small lcd panel and stick it inside your case, itll be bigger and cheaper

970 evo plus tend to be overpriced to sht but idk what country you are in, though for all i know its only good value in the uk, and 980 pro is useless if you dont move around massive files/do productivity work but its atleast better value wise most of the time than the 970 evo. Search for cheaper alternatives

Get a 1200w psu instead as rog psus are so overpriced you might aswell get a cheaper and better unit that even has higher wattage, and if you have this kind of money again the next time you upgrade you wont need to swap psu so long term cost savings, and no dont go over platinum since titanium is also a meme

And yes that 3090ti is also a complete meme, itll get crushed by next gen so best wait for next gen and get the halo gpu for that so it wont be immedeatly outdated like the 3090ti. 3080(ti) will suffice if you are just gaming, 3090 for high res

Are you sure you want that massive case? If you arent custom looping its also useless so better off with the regular o11d

Fans are just an aesthetic preference so i cant really judge them if you go for more unique fans like those unifans

Thisll easily save over 1000$ so if you build now you can just stick a 3080(ti) in it and wait for nvidia 4000 cards then jump on the halo product of the 4000 series
