Hmmmmm. Do you think that you could record your screen (or at least take a picture) on every step of the installation process. From the "Install Now" button, to your error. I just want to see what the process is. Could I also have the make and model of the drive? I know you mentioned 1tb nvme, but I never got details.

So I built my first everything worked fine until I went to install windows 10 nothing but problem after problem I’ve tried and asked on every forum I can find/think of and haven’t sorted it after working on it for close to a week now.

te problem itself is I get an error message as I’m installing windows 10 which states “Windows could not prepare the computer to boot into the next phase of the installation. To instal windows restart the installation.”

things I’ve tried remaking the bootable usb twice

using every usb slot

buying a bootable usb from a pc shop

downloading the correct drivers as this was a problem at one point.

any help would be extremely appreciated as at this point I’m out of ideas and have a unusable pc that I was super excited to use.

Is the Hard Drive properly formatted?

If Windows won't install itself, you can trick the system and install Windows elsewhere (if you have spare parts) and clone the Windows installation to the drive that you are currently trying to install it on.

I don’t own another form of storage but if that’s likely to work I might buy another

Updating the BIOS is never a bad idea in situations like this. It's not guaranteed, but it could work.

How do I do that? Sorry I’m a bit of a noob lol

You can watch this video from Asus. It is with a different board and CPU but the BIOS layout is the same.

It didn’t work 😞

That's unfortunate. I figured that would happen.

Just to confirm, when you go to select a drive, there is only one option which says "unallocated space", correct?

It seems like this issue mainly has to do with drive partions. If it's a new drive, there shoudn't be any partitions on it but maybe a complete wipe of the drive could help.

When you first boot into the USB stick, press SHIFT+F10

type the following command and press ENTER:

diskpart

A diskpart prompt will open.

From the prompt, type this command and press ENTER:

list disk

A list of your drives will appear. Verify that you see your 1tb ssd and take note of what number it is.

select the disk and press ENTER:

select disk # (Replace with disk number)

Finally, type this and press ENTER:

clean

Now we can confirm that the drive has no partitions on it.

Don't think this will work but just eliminating options.

Well, that's not the result I was excpecting but if it worked then I guess I'll take it. Building your first PC is always super stressful, especially when something goes wrong so I know how you feel. Congrats on the new PC!
