Hello everyone! I just set up a Minecraft server, and to avoid going over my data plan with my ISP, I've set a data limit of 400GB on it's connection. My question is this, if it reaches that data limit, what happens? Does it simply have an alert pop up, or will it actually cut off the connection to further usage? I can't find any straight answers anywhere, and I figured coming here to ask was sensible. What I want to do is have it cut off the connection once that 400GB has been reached, so I won't go over my data cap with my ISP, without having to actively monitor the server.

I can't check this for myself since Windows can't track my network card for some reason but just set the limit to 1mb and check what happens when it reaches the limit. I would assume it just blocks it.

You receive a warning, it is not a hard limit.

After you set a data limit, we'll let you know when you're getting near it.

On Windows 10, you can configure a data usage limit to get a warning when you're getting close to your plan limit.
