Pc Build

Go to solution Solved by Somerandomtechyboi,

12700/5900x + 32gb ram + 2tb ssd + 3080ti minimum spec and then focus on aesthetics cause this budget is more geared towards workstations with 5950x/12900 w 3080ti/3090

Ditch the cpu for atleast a 12700k or 5900x depending on if you need single core or multicore

Gpu atleast 3080(ti)

Id suggest a 2tb crucial p5 as they are 180 according to pcpp and they perform similarly to 970 evo

H150i is gonna be annihilated by liquid freezer ii 360 so dont bother with that overpriced joke of an aio, for looks only get the cheapest 360mm argb aio you can find cause if you arent overclocking then no point wasting budget on an overkill aio

Terrible 4x8 config, 2x16 is better for upgradability and overclocking, id suggest crucial ballistix rgb instead since they do 4000 cl16 easy and 4500+ cl18 depending on how you wanna overclock them. If you prefer corsair ram i think rgb rs 2x16 is going for 130$, make sure to run atleast 1.6v to get any decent ram overclock cause they use trash b die (not the good b dies that do 4000 cl14), though youll need a fan over them for cooling and dont go over 1.7v

X570 board is uneccesary unless you run more than 1 gen4, dual gpu, basically anything that takes advantage of chipset pcie 4.0 lanes. A decent b550 board like b550a pro, tomahawk, aorus pro, steel legend, pg velocita, etc. would suffice, focus on board features + i/o and ignore any overclocking claims cause cpu overclock is dead. If you go intel then same thing applies though id reccomend z690 aero g ddr4 since that has a crap load of i/o (most notably 3 usb c), i would also reccomend z690 pg riptide or phantom gaming if you wanna cut cost on mobo

7000x is custom water optimized and custom water is the most pointless thing to do to your pc as it only adds an extra failiure point, stupidly expensive if you are dumb enough to go the pc specific watercooling parts route (esp hard tube), and usually only serves an aesthetic purpose, only reason to go custom water is mostly aesthetics and/or performance aka silence, downsize to a 4000/5000d airflow but i also reccomend df700 flux, p400/500a, and lancool 215 as other case choices

The rm is apparently 130$ but reduced to 95$ cause promos according to pcpp, you may wanna consider 1000w or higher so you can reuse the psu for future builds

Sp 120 are just generic rgb fans but stupidly overpriced, they do not have any unique features like corsair ll/ql fans. If you want no frills rgb fans then go arctic p12/120 argb as they are noctua level performance and cheap too, if you want more flashy fans then go corsair ll/ql or whatever other fans that have lighting zones cause as overpriced and pointless as they may be atleast they offer customizable lighting zones unlike some other overpriced rgb fans

Ask again in late May. The 5800X3D is supposed to have released by then and prices fluctuate so much that whatever recommendation made today will be moot by then.

Also, this system prioritizes looks way over performance. For this budget you could feasibly fit a 3090 if you lose some of the RGB and go for a less overkill case.

I think switch the CPU from Ryzen 7 5800x to Intel Core i7 12700

PCPartPicker Part List

CPU: Intel Core i7-12700 2.1 GHz 12-Core Processor  ($349.99 @ B&H)
Motherboard: Asus ROG STRIX Z690-A GAMING WIFI D4 ATX LGA1700 Motherboard  ($347.99 @ Newegg)
Total: $697.98
Prices include shipping, taxes, and discounts when available
Generated by PCPartPicker 2022-04-14 00:36 EDT-0400

if u decided to use the H150i cooler I think u need to also buy the bracket CW-8960091 or CW-8960093, otherwise get then newer SKU that is compatible out of the box

this CPU should run cooler and faster that your previous choice, althought I use NH-U12S Redux for my system with that CPU and it work actually well enough, but I can understand the cleaner look of AIO

I am intending to do a quite a bit of overclocking as I am fairly experienced in that and I am also intending to get another nvme later down the line. But thanks for the advice anyways I will try to fix my pc selections

Unfortunatley cpu overclocking is dead so i suggest ignoring it unless you can keep it under 60c at all times cause you arent gonna get any meaningful improvement if temps are too high (400mhz+ over boost). And no an aesthetics focused custom loop will be wayyy inadequate for that so you need a beefy one with beefy rads or straight up ditch normie custom water and do it the old fashioned way and hook up a god damn car rad to your pc like what im doing

Though gpu and (v)ram overclocking still have benifits so i suggest focusing on those instead

Keep in mind that it isnt like old times where you can atleast get 30% improvement or on older bclk/fsb oc platforms over 50% and even near 100% improvement, if you cpu overclock even with beefy cooling expect a measly 5-15% improvement
