Laptop memory upgrades

Just bought a laptop with 8 GBs of RAM and am looking for at least 16. When I look for another stick, do I just need to worry about getting the frequency and size the same? Because i've always done the same manufacturer as well when I have built my desktops. Just wondering if that matters with laptop ram at all.

Use CPU-Z and go to memory tab, you should match profiles of that (which includes frequency and a few timings). Capacity doesnt have to be the same but it's better.

Don't have the laptop yet. Was hoping to just order the ram so I can get them at the same time, if that's not possible i'll figure out what I have when I get the laptop.

A thing I realize when looking it up, the model number 10SCXR points to the GF63, not GF75. Make sure this is actually what you want

I don't see anything too alarming, or something I thought I was getting but i'm not. I think the seller just made a mistake on the product name. I was looking for the GTX 1650 version and core i5.

So will I need to wait till I get my laptop to buy the RAM? Cause their page doesn't say anything about the timings. This laptop is meant for very light gaming and schoolwork.

Yes unless you dont care if it runs even slower than rated.
