6600 XT or 3060?

Hi All,

I am looking at buying a GPU and am just wanting a few opinions on which i should get.

I have been thinking about buying either the 3060 or the 6600 XT. With the recent drop in prices, both are close in cost, however the brands are different.

The cheapest ones i could find for the 6600 XT are the Asus Dual OC and MSI Mech 2x OCV1, both at $549 AUD. The rest of the brands are around $670.

For the 3060, the cheapest one is the MSI Gaming X at $579 AUD, the rest around $650.

Which of these would be better? I want a cheapish quality card with good customer support.

I will mainly use it for playing Apex, Destiny 2, Pubg as well as some editing in Premiere Pro and Lightroom.

The main thing i am concerned about with AMD is the software. I recently had a Gigabyte 6600 (which i had to return since it was faulty), and whenever i opened the AMD software overlay in a game the entire computer would lag. It also would happen whenever notifications appeared on the screen when in a game.

The Lightroom thing says Nvidia to me because of studio drivers.  I don’t know if the 3060 does those though.
