Is RAM upgrade wise in my case? 8GB soldered + 8GB in RAM slot

Hello all,

 

I would like to ask you opinion and a direction I should take in case if I should or should not upgrade RAM in my laptop. Currnetly I have 8GB soldered + 8GB in RAM slot and I was thinking I would put a 32GB module into the slot to get total of 40GB memory.

 

Will I lose dual channel completely? Or it will use 8GB soldered + 8GB out of the 32GB for dual channel and the 26GB will be a single channel? Is it an upgrade worth doing?

Does it support more than 8GB in the second slot?

Do you know if you are topping up the ram at all? If not, there's no need.

i7-11370h

RTX 3060

The CPU says that it supports up to 64GB.

Not the CPU, the motherboard (laptop) is what's in question.

Escape From Tarkov is my use-scenario 😄

 

Hmm looks like according to this site maximum RAM for my laptop is 32gb RAM. But this one says that max per slot its 32GB and max total memory is 48GB.

16GB Should be plenty.

What laptop is it? The new asus g14/g15? Typically these laptops just do 8+32gb max with 16gb of that ram in dual channel mode.
