Best laptop choice?

Does anyone have some advice on which of these laptops will give the better performance. I have the choice between two. The first from last year and the second from this year. I have listed the only differences between them.

FHD 17.3" 360Hz
RTX 3080-16GB
Ryzen R9-5900HX
32GB DDR4-3200Mhz

ROG STRIX SCAR 17
QHD 17.3" 240Hz
RTX 3070ti-8GB
i9-12900H
32GB DDR5 4800Mhz

Also to note all listed components are laptop grade

For gaming or what?

 

I mean for the price these go for you can get a better legion 5. That and keep in mind these laptops are not really portable due to the size and weight and the intel one has quite worse battery but better cpu performance. However the amd one has the better gpu and better cooling so the drop in cpu power isn't really a problem if it's for gaming since a 5900hx easily still maxes out a 3080 mobile.

Yes it is for gaming. I've had laptops like this before and they are more than portable enough for me so that isn't a concern. I just need something I can easily throw in a bag and take with me while I'm away for work
