Depends on what you whant to do. If you are only writing on word, making excel documents and giving powerpoint presentation then a mcbook can be good but it is not the only option. Id say go with a laptop that you feel comfortable typing with, considering that you will probably write alot. Oh, and also a good battery would be a nice to have, if you are like me and tend to forget your laptop charger 😅

A MacBook Air would be excellent for those purposes. It's still fast in this category, lasts a long time on battery and has a superb keyboard/trackpad combo. My wife bought the M1 model shortly after it launched and has enjoyed it ever since.

 

If you do buy one, remember that you might get an educational discount through Apple or your school, depending on where you live. You might also have the option of an official refurbished model through the Apple online store.
