Hi there,

I currently have a dell precision t5600 workstation

Specs:-

2 intel xeon e5 2660 processors sandy bridge

MSI ventus xs Gtx 1650 OCV1

32gb ddr3 1333mghz ram, 8gb sticks

Samsung 860 EVO 500gb SATA ssd

Seagate 3tb drive SATA

Dell 825 watt gold power supply

Windows 10 pro for workstations

Recently before the issue started to occur one of the front right memory fans failed. So I opened the Case door to allow extra air to come in and it worked really well.

Even games ran on it pretty well. But when I was doing work in Maya after 20 mins or so the PC crashed. Then it occurred to me that it not only crashed in maya but even in normal applications like gmail. So one day as i was cleaning of the dust i dicided to dismantle and reassemble everything. After that it still crashed. I took it to a repair and the guy there said that maybe applying thermal paste to the chipset of motherboard would fix things, it was dry and after repasting the PC ran for a bit more time but crashed later on. So I just in case repasted the CPUs and kept the heat sink little bit more tight. I ran prime 95 with kombustor for the gpu. It worked for about 1 hour. I later restarted it, But after restarting in maya it still crashed. The blue screen is not appearing, it just switches off and sometimes it does after 30 min or sometimes 10 min.if you try to press the power button after crashing it still does not turn on. You have to remove all wires press the power button for 15 sec and plug everything back in and then it turns on. Back then I used to have 40gb ram. I thought the ram could be overheating and so removed one dimm present in the area where the fan was not working. It still crashes. Next I thought the power supply is a bit faulty and so pressed the  'Self test button' present behind the power supply. It came green which means it works. Currently I am stuck at further troubleshooting. I'll try to update everything to the latest including the bios and see if it works. Until then please help out.

Thank you in advance.

I dont see any fans in the pictures you posted. The cpu coolers rely on case airflow to cool them if any case fans die they need to be replaced asap. And easy way to check if it is a thermal issue would be to run prime95 and hwmonitor and see what the temps are.

Sounds to me like a PSU problem even if the PSU says everything is good. Maybe try chucking a different one in and see how it behaves. Otherwise reseat the cpu and check  for smudges or bent pins on the cpu and motherboard socket

Reseated it during reassembly, found no bent cpu pins

I'll try the psu replacement later, currently i dont have any psu lying around.
