will ryzen 7 3800xt bottleneck rx 6900xt or rtx 3080ti?

hello. im in market for gpu upgrade because my old gtx 1080 is showing age ate 2560x1440p 240hz panel and because gpu prices are droping like hell. im looking between rtx 3080ti and rx 6900xt. i have ryzen 7 3800xt, 32gb ram, x570 taichi mobo. will ryzen 3800xt bottleneck 3080ti or 6900xt at 1440p? thanks for help

Depends on the game. And any bottleneck will not be significant imho.

 

Could probably stop at a 3080 12GB or 6800XT, if you want to be logical. But where is the fun in that? 😉

where is logic in high end pcs? 😂 i will probably upgrade to 5700x or 5800x, is just plug and play for me.  thanks for anwser.

Not that much for 1440p, if any. If it does bottleneck you should still get great fps

A 3800X shouldn't bottleneck any modern GPU on 1440p.

That said, a newer generation CPU, with the same ammount of cores or more of them, will offer a bit better performance in some scenarios.

If you can afford a 3080 tie or a 6900XT, you can afford at least a 5900X. That's more cores and more performance per core.
