HI All

Was having problems with my old PC so bought a new Mobo and CPU,

Bought a 5600x and a Gigabyte B550 GAMING X V2

1080ti and 16gb RAM with it, just using the Stock cooler atm because it's been a pain reinstalling everything.

Does anyone know what this error is? It just seems to flick and click for a couple of seconds but nothing ever happens, i've reseated everything, checked the CPU, seems to be find. I just can't figure it out.

Gone though so much troubleshooting the last few days and it's getting on my nerves.

remove all cpu connectors from the PSU and the RAM and reinsert them all again.

that should fix it hopefully 🙂

I'd say turn off, remove ram, turn on, wait for boot fail, turn off, put ram back in, turn back on.  That is necesary when the cr2032 battery needs replacing.

If it's a new motherboard the CMOS battery shouldnt need replacing unless the board is cactus. Lol.

I'd also check the power supply. It could be that it's not sending enough power to the board and to the GPU .. check the 24 pin connection that goes from the power supply to the motherboard and make sure that the connecter is sitting flush and firmly in the socket..

Also, have you connected the TPD header connectors and all the other motherboard header connections? Make sure you is plugged in to the right header on the board. I would start by checking for any loose connections and improperly seated hardware, then I'd go from there mate..

you bought new CPU and mother board and still havn't mention one time that you bios is tested and upgraded yet.. please do so... it's an AMD.. most boards are not prepared for cpu's they sell from vendor as they have been in storage usually.

is your old cpu an AMD too? .. if so test if it works in your system so you can upgrade it live.. if not you will need to check if you can upgrade mainboard with flash drive and pushing a button in the back..  i see it has Bios usb port and q-flash plus button .. download correct bios to a flash drive formated fat32.  but usb in bios port, and push q-flash button. and wait until it's up. it can take a long time.

I can't get a post so I have no idea if the bios is even working.

I have attempted to bios flash the most resent one from USB.

I have a1700 so it's not compatible with the board. I'll wait till I get back from work and I'll remove the CPU and see if the board clicks without that plugged in.

They really sell boards with dead batteries.

Don't think it is, there's no loose cable there at all with a missing bit, i donno gonna try RMA It

it could be a blank pin.. that it never was anything there..  then it's probably normal but, consider power draw from the new mainboard and CPU too..
