Ram overclock question

if I have a 3200mhz ram, is it considered as overclocking if I'll change the default speed (2666mhz) that my motherboard has set  to 3200MHz?

Loading XMP is considered overclocking. 

 

What's your CPU? Which motherboard?

You can’t just change the speed, it won’t be stable. 
 

You need to enable XMP, which will change the speed, adjust timing, and adjust voltages. It is an overclock, but it’s a “sanctioned overclock” if that makes sense.

My CPU is i5 10400f and my MoBo is MSI H510m pro-e and the max speed is 3200MHz. I heard about the xmp already but thanks.

You can change the frequency of the ram, and it MIGHT be stable. It depends on if your motherboard is capable of setting stable auto timings at the frequency you select. Generally if you downclock to 2666, it'll probably be stable because that's a low speed and its easy for the board to set stable timings.
