There is a kit that came with a controller. The 3 pin connector on the strip goes to that controller.

What motherboard? What fan controller? We need more than a CPU and GPU listed in your signature to go off of.

I'm not actually trying to be as grumpy as it seems.

I  have a gigabyte b560m h and a xigmatek controller that came with my xigmatek III essential fans.

DLED_1 is a 3 pin ARGB header.

If you only bought the one LED strip, that's not a scam. It doesn't say it comes with it anywhere. If you bought a kit that was supposed to come with a controller, then yes you did.
